Our founding CEO is Theo Heerman, who has many years of experience in and knowledge of the oil industry. Theo also built and sold a storage facility at Durban Harbour, and through this the company has solid experience in receiving, importing, storing and delivering various oils.
The company grew to include the supply of vegetable oils to the oleochemical, feed and pet food market, as well as refining base oils for use in the paint industry.
After investing in additional plants and improving our processing facilities, Refinex was able to offer a more diverse range of products and this facilitated access to new markets. Refinex and SA Tank Terminals have both grown from these investments.
